Every year, high school and college students gather together to compete in skilled trade competitions. Together Logan Archibald and I worked together and won our regional, state, and finally national gold medals for Audio & Radio Production.
I couldn't have done this project on my own. Go and check out the incredible person who was my competition partner for NSLC 2024, Logan Archibald.
Our challenge for the national competition was to write and record a 2-minute news editorial about skilled trade education versus traditional universities while also producing a 60-second and 30-second commercial for various sponsors of the competition. During the national competition, my job was to gather soundbites from people on the street, help craft a story
around what they said, and then edit and mix it into a compelling news editorial. I focused on editing the audio, music, and sound effects, while Logan focused on research, writing, and sourcing music and sound effects with the proper licenses.
